It is time once again for our Haiti Fall Fund Raiser.   Photos of the students and teachers of Notre Dame du Lourdes going up later this month.  Our Haiti committee asks that you consider once again to be a sponsor of education in our sister parish.  A suggested donation of $150 will go to pay teacher’s salaries and pay a portion of the operational costs of the chapel schools.   This equates to less than $.50 per day but provides a powerful degree of support for our sister parish and makes it possible for families to send their children to the chapel Catholic schools.

In January of 2020 we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the beginning of our relationship with Notre Dame du Lourdes parish in Belle Fontaine, Haiti.   In that time your donations have made education possible for approximately 4500 students annually. Your support has sustained 24 chapel Catholic schools and has employed approximately 100 teachers.    Your support is giving a hand up to the marginalized, providing evangelization and building disciples.

In addition to the literacy levels of students, Fr. Eddy has shared that your support of education has impacted the community in multitude of ways.

1. 1. Rural, poor children can attend a Catholic school. There are no public schools in our sister parish.
   2. The teachers earn a salary that allows them to take care of their family.
   3. 4500 students annually receive a good education due to your generous support.
   4. The parents welcome the blessing of their children’s Catholic education.
   5. The country of Haiti benefits from educated students.
   6. The parish school has been able to expand their reach to students outside the parish.
   7. Education has reduced juvenile crime within the parish.

Your donation of $150, or whatever you can offer, helps give the children of Notre Dame du Lourdes a future.
