Konbit Theme
In Haiti, “Konbit” is used to describe a traditional form of cooperative communal labor whereby able-bodied folk help each other prepare their fields. It is a time for solidarity and cooperation, especially in the face of adversity. The Haiti committee is adapting the use of the Haitian word Konbit because it’s the closest word our Haitian resources could offer as a translation for the word “potluck”.
On Mission weekend October 22-23, the Haiti Committee invites all parishioners to attend a “Konbit” potluck in the social hall following each mass. The main dish, coffee and water will be provided. Attendees are asked to bring a salad, vegetable, or dessert to share. The committee is asking parishioners to RSVP and provide the number of people attending with you, so we have enough food for everyone. You can RSVP on the parish website https://allsaintscr.com/ under “Upcoming Events”.
Please join us for an update on our sister parish and enjoy a meal and some social time!
